On May 21st, Yang Yi, Party Secretary and Chairman of Red Sun Co., Ltd., led a delegation to the Lao People's Democratic Republic and held a high-level strategic dialogue with Kykeo Singnavong, Minister of Agriculture of Laos. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on core topics such as green pesticide market development, smart agricultural technology promotion, customized production systems, and cross-border investment policies. The two sides also formally announced plans to accelerate the signing of a strategic cooperation memorandum and promote the implementation of the first batch of demonstration projects. This meeting marks a substantial breakthrough for Red Sun's "Global Connectivity" strategy in the ASEAN market, injecting new momentum into the high-quality joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative between China and Laos.
As a geographical hub for ASEAN, Laos is leveraging its open economic policies to accelerate agricultural modernization. The country's agricultural market is currently expanding at an average annual rate of 12%, with a demand for green agricultural technologies exceeding 40%, creating an urgent need for industrial upgrading. During the meeting, Kykeo Singnavong emphasized that "Red Sun's dual-drive model of a 'zero-carbon industrial chain' and a 'digital supply chain' forms a highly strategic synergy with Laos' 'Agriculture 3.0' strategy. From Red Sun's 'zero-carbon super factory' to its cross-border agricultural distribution network, Red Sun's 'one chain, six industries' ecosystem will provide critical support for rebuilding the agricultural value chain in Indochina."
During the meeting, Yang Yi emphasized that Red Sun's international expansion is by no means a traditional output of production capacity, but rather a commitment to building a shared future for the agricultural industry between China and Laos, based on digital technology and linked by the circular economy. Based on this cooperation framework, Red Sun will implement a "Technology + Industry" empowerment plan.
Technology Empowerment System: Relying on Red Sun's world-leading green pesticide R&D Center, we deployed a full-cycle solution of "AI early warning of pests and diseases - precise variable-rate application - ecological soil remediation", helping Laos achieve an increase in efficiency of more than 30% with reduction in pesticide use. Simultaneously, we established the Laos Agricultural Technology Promotion Center. Through intelligent agricultural technology demonstration sites, we innovated the "field classroom + digital diagnosis and treatment" promotion model, building a "last mile" channel for technology to reach farmers directly.
Industrial Collaboration Network: Relying on the Red Sun Zero-Carbon Super Industrial Park, a circular economy zone consisting of "planting base - biomass deep processing - customized pesticide production base" is being created in Laos, with the goal of increasing the comprehensive added value of local agricultural products by over 30%.
Kykeo Singnavong highly praised Red Sun's strategic vision and stated that its planning is precisely aligned with Laos' agricultural modernization process. As Laos' first localized pesticide production base, the project will significantly improve agricultural efficiency and increase farmers' income through technological empowerment and cost optimization. The Laotian Ministry of Agriculture will establish a special working group to optimize the approval process, strengthen policy coordination, and fully ensure the efficient implementation of the project.
The talks marked a significant upgrade in China-Laos agricultural cooperation from traditional trade to a shared vision of a fully integrated ecosystem. The cross-border extension of Red Sun's "zero-carbon industrial chain" not only aligns closely with the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) initiative to deepen regional industrial and supply chain connectivity, but also leverages the innovative model of "Chinese technology + ASEAN resources + global markets" and the dual-driven approach of "Red Sun's green and efficient agricultural products + a digital supply chain" to help Laos achieve its "2030 Vision for Agricultural Modernization," contributing a "Chinese solution" to the global green transformation of agriculture.
During the visit, the delegation also inspected relevant industrial parks in Laos, conducted in-depth research on the Laotian agricultural material terminal market and the construction of the China-Laos Agricultural Industrial Park, and laid the foundation for the subsequent construction of the Red Sun Global Green Private Customized Production Center and the Agricultural Technician Training Base in Laos.
